Dr. Rev Laura G. Early is an ordained elder in
the United Methodist Church. She received her BA in
Philosophy with a concentration in Religion at North
Carolina State University, a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, and a Doctor of
Ministry from Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West,
South Carolina with
a 3.75 GPA.
Dr. Rev. Early has served in the United Methodist Church since 1981. Her career began in Christian Education where she
served at Duke Memorial and McMannen United Methodist Church
in Durham. Rev. Early has served as Pastor of the Aulander
and Gatesville United Methodist Charges. While she was
serving the Gatesville Charge, the Gatesville United
Methodist Church was recipient of the Key Taylor Award for
Outreach and Evangelism in the North Carolina Annual
Conference. Ms. Laura was appointed to a North Carolina
Annual Conference Pilot Project as Elizabeth City District
Director of Christian Education were she worked with 54
charges in strengthening local
Churches through programming and leadership training. She
served in this position until accepting an appointment as
the founding pastor of All God's Children United Methodist Church in
1997. All God's Children United Methodist Church was formed
as a result of The Bishop's Initiative on Children and the
Impoverished. All God's Children United Methodist Church
focuses on meeting the needs of children and the
impoverished and their families and has received national recognition for its
ministry. All God's Children has established programs to
meet the needs of "at risk" children through
Morning Lambs, a pre-school program;
After School FAMILY, an after school program fostering
learning; and
HOME
Base, a food and clothing distribution facility.
Dr. Rev. Laura Early and her husband Mr. Bill
have three children (Betty June and Gunter), two
grandchildren(Laura Haley and Addison Rayne), Five Horses,
Five Cats, Five Dogs, and a Dove. She says that her next
appointment will be to build an Ark! |
